Human Resources Manager

NOVAGOLD is looking for a Human Resources Manager, preferably with experience working for a publicly traded company. NOVAGOLD owns 60% of the Donlin Gold development stage project, which is anticipated to be one of a few gold mines in the world that will produce more than one million ounces of gold annually once in operation.

The position is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Occasional travel is required, including to remote sites at times.

About the position

Purpose: The Human Resources Manager will implement and maintain an effective human resources program for the company.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

- Recommend and maintain an organizational structure and staffing levels adequate to accomplish company goals and objectives.

- Recruit for employees as needed.

- Create organization-wide people development strategies and training programs consistent with NOVAGOLD’s unique culture.

- Maintain NOVAGOLD’s employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance through organization-wide performance management programs.

- Liaise with management to understand all aspects and needs of human resources development, and to ensure they are fully informed of human resources objectives and programs.

- Support management in conducting the company’s annual compensation review process; including participating in annual salary surveys, attending seminars, coordinating total compensation reviews with managers, preparing salary increase/ annual incentive and stock-based compensation calculations, maintaining the company’s pay bands and updating as needed.

- Recommend and implement changes to existing benefit programs as required (health and welfare benefits, retirement savings plans, employee stock purchase plan, equity grant plans).

- Provide advice and interpretation to employees regarding company benefits and policies as required.

- Collaborate with benefit providers/advisors in the U.S. and Canada.

- Serve as the primary contact with the company’s payroll service provider to ensure payroll is accurate and timely.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Experience:
