JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist will provide operational support for the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruiting and onboarding, compensation and benefits, compliance, and the enforcement of company policies and practices.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Performs routine administrative tasks required to support the execution of human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and staff morale; and other miscellaneous tasks as needed.
•Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions and collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
•Create and/or track the creation of new job descriptions, update the org chart, and maintain current job descriptions for ISO and other administrative purposes.
•Lead internal event committee to plan and host company events.
•Assist with the implementation and maintenance of various modules within Paylocity (company HRIS system).
•Assists the HR team with general support for shop and office staff, including timely responses to a variety of questions related to benefits, compensation, employee relations, and other employment related questions and situations.
•Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to HR Manager and/or the appropriate staff.
•Responsible for pre- and post-hiring tasks such as pre-employment checks and new employee onboarding and responds to requests for employment verification, unemployment claims, etc.
•Lead the internal and external communication efforts for open enrollment activities including planning internal meetings, broker communications, benefit renewal documents, and Paylocity benefit plan changes.
•Tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and continuing education. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, etc.
•Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred but not required.
•SHRM-CP is preferred but not required.
•A minimum of 3-5 years of human resources experience is required.
•Previous experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment in a similar role is preferred but not required.
•Basic knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations is required.
•Previous experience using Paylocity as a Payroll and HRIS system or another similar HRIS system is required.
•The ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality is required.
•The ability to remain organized with a keen attention to detail in a fast-paced environment is required.
•The ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines utilizing excellent time management skills is required.
•Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are required.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, etc.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
•Our office provides common office equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers for staff to use as needed.
•Routine work and staff interactions within our office environment occur daily.
•The ability to withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer is required.
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include natural or corrected close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
•Long hours on a keyboard require fine dexterity use of hands/fingers for sustained periods of time.
•Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
•Must be able to follow all safety protocols while in our shop area.
