JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Generalist will provide administrative support in all human resource functions including systems administration, benefits, leave management, employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, retention, training and development and overall compliance. This position plays a critical role in providing day to day professional human resources support and counsel to employees and leaders in accordance with organization policies, and with federal, state and local regulations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources department including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development; leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; employee handbook; and responding to general HR queries from employees, managers and company leadership.

Provide guidance and ensure consistent implementation of HR programs, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Coordinate the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating the hiring decision.
Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation, paperwork completion, and introduction to company policies and procedures.
Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Assist with the development and implementation of employee training and development programs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, HRIS data, and timekeeping records.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Regular and reliable attendance.


Requirements:


QUALIFICATIONS:

5 or more years of experience in human resources and a high school diploma or equivalent or a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
Thorough knowledge of a wide range of HR/legal standards & regulations, programs, processes, and tools in all areas ranging from recruitment, benefits, training, and payroll.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Experience with HRIS; experience with ADP Workforce Now for onboarding, benefits administration, payroll processing and reporting preferred.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively relay and obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse workforce.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Ability to work independently without close supervision or with a team and complete projects within specified deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Experience working with Unions and Union employees preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Occasional adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

General office environment.
May require occasional exposure to production area with airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold. Personal protection equipment is required when entering manufacturing plant.
Occasional travel to other locations, for training, etc. as needed.

Compensation: $72,000 - $96,000 / Year
