Summary
This position will be responsible for all aspects of Human Resources, including but not limited to recruiting, payroll, benefit management, policy and compliance management, while maintaining confidentiality in all matters. The Human Resources Generalist will conduct themselves in a professional manner, be trustworthy and dependable. This position will be expected to operate both independently and collaboratively with Management and must work onsite.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding
•Manage end-to-end recruitment processes: posting jobs, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and extending offers.
•Facilitate smooth onboarding for new hires, including orientation sessions and necessary documentation.
Employee Relations
•Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
•Support conflict resolution, conduct investigations when needed, and assist in disciplinary actions.
•Promote a positive work environment.
•Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
Performance Management
•Coordinate performance review cycles, provide support to managers and employees, and help track performance goals.
•Assist in implementing employee training and development plans
Compensation & Benefits
•Administer employee benefits programs, including healthcare and retirement plans, and assist with annual open enrollment.
•Resolve benefit-related issues.
•Review timecards and process payroll accurately.
•Respond to unemployment claims and correspondence.
HR Compliance
•Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (e.g., EEO, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, Wage & Hour).
•Update and maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
•Investigate and process complaints related to harassment, discrimination, and other workplace issues.
•File workers compensation claims and communicate with employees on return to work.
Training & Development
•Coordinate training sessions and support employee learning and development initiatives.
•Help assess training needs and support skills development programs.
Policy Development & Enforcement
•Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures.
•Review and maintain Employee Manual.
•Ensure consistent policy enforcement across the organization.
•Lead HR related projects initiated by CEO or CFO from inception to implementation.
Qualifications & Skills:
•Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
•3-5 years human resources experience
•SHRM-CP certification a plus
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office
•Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field
•Understanding of state and federal employment regulations
•Awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance
•Understanding of requirements and reporting for over 100 employees
•Understanding of personnel and compliance records management
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
•Ability to maintain confidentiality
Physical Demands:
•Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while using a computer or attending meetings
•Occasionally will need to move about the office and warehouse to interact with employees
•The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, including verbal and written interactions that require speaking clearly, listening attentively, and accurately interpreting and responding to information
