Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
•5 to 7 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, with a strong preference for experience in the
midstream oil/gas sector, heavy industrial manufacturing
, or a similar operations-focused environment.
•HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
•Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams.
•Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
•Proven experience in employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and HR policy administration.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
•Strong understanding of HRIS systems ( Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, etc).
•Familiarity with DOT regulations and other industry-specific compliance requirements.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
•Exceptional interpersonal and active listening skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
•Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Description:
The HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, HR policy interpretation and compliance, and HRIS data management. This role requires a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
Employee Relations:
•Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related inquiries, providing guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and programs.
•Conduct employee relations investigations, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and complaints, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and legal compliance.
•Provide coaching and counseling to managers and employees on performance improvement, conflict resolution, and other workplace issues.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
•Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies for various roles within midstream operations (e.g., engineers, operators, technicians, project managers).
•Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from job posting and sourcing to interviewing, offer extension, and background checks.
•Oversee and enhance the new hire onboarding process to ensure a smooth and effective integration for new employees.
Performance Management:
•Support the annual performance management cycle, including goal setting, performance reviews, and talent calibration.
•Provide guidance to managers on effective performance feedback and development plans.
•Assist in identifying training and development needs to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
•Administer compensation and benefits programs, including payroll input, benefits enrollment, leave management, and responding to employee inquiries.
•Assist in compensation benchmarking and analysis to ensure competitive pay practices.
•Collaborate with benefits providers and brokers to ensure effective plan administration.
HR Policy & Compliance:
•Interpret and apply HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations relevant to the midstream sector (e.g., DOT, OSHA regulations related to pipeline operations).
•Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures as needed.
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
HRIS Management:
•Utilize and maintain the HR Information System (HRIS) for accurate data entry, reporting, and analysis.
•Generate HR reports and metrics to support business decisions.
Other Duties:
•Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
•Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
•Stay current on HR trends and best practices, particularly within the energy industry.
