Primary responsibilities include the delivery and pickup of rental equipment, set-up and teardown on customer sites, ensuring customer satisfaction, and performing equipment inspections, repairs, and maintenance. Additional duties include preparing and recording all rental equipment and accessories prior to delivery, transporting equipment using the company’s rental trucks and trailers, and inspecting returned equipment to ensure all items are accounted for and free of damage.
What You’ll Do – The Role (Responsibilities)
- Prepare rental equipment and accessories for delivery and future use.
- Safely deliver, set up, tear down, and pick up rental equipment; provide basic operating instructions to customers.
- Inspect equipment upon pickup/return, document any damage, and report issues to the Manager.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on rental equipment as directed.
- Support the Manager with miscellaneous deliveries/pickups and assist other drivers/technicians with loading and unloading.
- Keep waste oil/coolant areas clean and organized; follow procedures for disposing of used fluids and filters.
- Maintain strong communication with customers, ensuring professional service and proactive resolution of concerns.
- Promote the Company and its products while maintaining high customer service standards.
- Accurately complete all required documentation during or immediately after each job.
- Operate Company vehicles safely, follow MTO regulations, and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with general in-house duties such as warehouse cleanup and inventory.
- Perform other related tasks as required for the Driver – Generator Technician role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Valid G license with a clean driving record. AZ/DZ is considered an asset but not required.
- Ability to drive large trucks and tow equipment.
- Superior customer service skills and track record.
- Strong time management skills.
- The ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Always wear proper PPE such as green patch” work boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, face shields/ masks and recommend to the supervisor any other job-related safety/ protective equipment required. Recommend to management any other job-related safety/protective equipment required.
- After hours On-Call – Required. Flexibility for emergency calls needed.
- Heavy lifting and physical exertion are required
- Ability to work irregular hours / overtime.
- Full time position plus approved OT.
- Willing to work locally and throughout the Province of Ontario.
