Position Summary:
Propane Plus, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Bookkeeper & HR Coordinator to manage and streamline internal accounting operations and support essential human resources functions. This is a high-level, on-site position requiring a minimum of 10 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably within the propane, energy, or related service industry.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and understands the importance of strong internal controls and financial accuracy in a growing, compliance-driven business.
Key Responsibilities: Bookkeeping & Financial Oversight
•Maintain full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing
•Oversee internal controls and ensure accuracy in financial records
•Generate regular financial statements and customized management reports
•Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
•Coordinate with external accountants for annual tax preparation and compliance
•Reconcile fuel purchases and verify delivery ticket accuracy against invoices
•Maintain and optimize the use of ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
HR Support Functions
•Maintain employee files and HR records in accordance with state and federal regulations
•Assist with onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance documentation
•Coordinate payroll processing with third-party provider
•Track PTO, sick leave, and employee status changes
•Support management with employee communications, policy implementation, and basic HR guidance
Administrative & Cross-Functional Support
•Collaborate with department heads to improve operational processes
•Assist with vendor management and purchasing reconciliations
•Support audits, insurance renewals, and regulatory reporting
•Uphold confidentiality and integrity in all financial and personnel matters
Qualifications:
•Minimum 10 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience
•Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal bookkeeping procedures
•Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
•Prior experience with HR processes including payroll, onboarding, and compliance
•Familiarity with the propane, fuel, or logistics industry is a strong plus
•Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
•Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently on-site
Work Environment:
•Full-time, on-site role at our office in Leander, TX
•Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional overtime during peak seasons)
