Fleet Servicer

Responsibilities

Support Fleet and shop operations by performing routine preventive maintenance, fueling, and other fleet and shop services.

- Perform routine & preventative maintenance to OPPD's fleet of transportation & construction equipment.

- Communicate with technicians and crew leaders regarding ongoing condition/status of vehicles and equipment, shop/tools.

- Participate in maintaining an environment focused on safety, good communication, collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving, and opportunities for continuous improvements and efficiencies.

- Wash/clean cars, trucks and other equipment utilizing pressure washers in shop wash bay as well as utilizing mobile wash unit.

- Perform mobile fueling services to the various service centers and remote job sites as directed.

- Transport vehicles and equipment between various service centers, vendors and job-site locations.

- Assist crewmembers in daily shop activities; pick-up parts, maintain, organize, and clean shop, perform tire services/replacements, and other duties as assigned by crew leader.

- Become familiar with and abide by all applicable safety requirements as related but not limited to shop operations, vehicle and equipment repair and operation, hazardous materials and personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

Required:

- High School diploma or equivalent.

- A valid driver's license

- Experience in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles (passenger cars, light duty trucks and medium duty trucks) and construction equipment

Desired:

- Post-secondary technical (light/medium/heavy duty vehicle) education

- Knowledge of hydraulic system operations and maintenance

- Class A Commercial Driver's License

- Welding and fabrication experience

- Experience operating shop equipment such as vehicle hoists, tire repair equipment and automatic lube dispensing equipment

- Fleet shop operations experience for an electric utility, independent shop, dealership or similar/related business

Time Demands:

¿ This role is considered a ¿non-essential¿ role; however, this role may be required to report to work to support the restoration of normal business operations.

¿ Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with Departmental policy.

¿ Must be available for overtime work and callouts as required to ensure continuance of efficient operation.

Environment (Choose all that apply):

Office: Work will be performed in a modern office environment amid normal conditions of dust, odors, fumes, and noises.

Field: Work will be performed outside in a wide variety of weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, cold, wind, etc.), terrain, and other natural environmental hazards as well as pollen and other airborne allergens.

Generation Plant: Work will be performed inside with exposure to industrial building conditions and will be exposed to extreme temperatures, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, and exposure to sounds. Noise levels may require shouting to be heard.

Physical Demands:

Must have the ability to: work on multiple tasks at one time, work under stressful situations; operate a computer and other office equipment; operate mechanic tools; sit at a desk for more than one hour at a time; move about the Company and interact with all levels of the Company. Frequent requirements of the position: sitting, speaking, hearing, ability to see information in print and/or electronically, keyboarding, handling objects with hands, standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying at least 50 pounds.
