JOB TITLE: Finance Manager LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV POSITION REPORTS TO: General Manager EXEMPT NONEXEMPT
Purpose & Scope of The Position:
The Finance Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Robinson’s site Finance, Information Technology (IT), and Continuous Improvement (CI) functions. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective technology systems while championing process improvement and operational excellence. The Finance Manager partners closely with the General Manager, the Corporate and site leadership teams to support cost performance, enable data-driven decisions, and align all administrative functions with company values, safety standards, and corporate policies.
- Leadership, Strategy & Compliance
- Uphold and model safe work practices in all aspects of the role.
- Lead the Finance, IT, and CI departments, ensuring alignment with company standards, IFRS requirements, and site operational goals.
- Provide strategic counsel to the GM and leadership team regarding financial performance, risk, technology, and business improvement opportunities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Financial Management
- Oversee all mine site accounting activities, including general ledger, cost control, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Lead preparation and analysis of operational and capital budgets, forecasts, variance reports, and long-range planning models.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial submissions and support external/internal audit requirements.
- Manage royalty calculations/payments, capital expenditure accounting, project cost tracking, and financial governance related to site initiatives.
- Build and maintain cost-benefit models, performance analytics, and financial dashboards to support strategic decisions.
- Information Technology Oversight
- Oversee all mine site IT functions, ensuring system reliability, data integrity, cybersecurity adherence, and alignment with company IT standards.
- Oversee site-level implementation and optimization of ERP systems, operational software, hardware, and communications infrastructure.
- Oversee digital transformation efforts, including data analytics, automation opportunities, and technology-driven efficiency projects.
- Continuous Improvement & Business Optimization
- Lead the CI Coordinator and oversee the site CI processes including corporate integration.
- People Leadership
- Develop and mentor team members, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Build a strong administrative bench through coaching, training, and succession planning.
- Foster open communication, encouraging employee ideas, feedback, and engagement.
- Other
- Support or lead special projects as assigned by the GM.
- Perform other duties as required to meet evolving business needs.
Required Education, Work Experience & Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting/financial experience, preferably in mining or heavy industrial environments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing multi-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial controls, and cost accounting principles.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power BI, Word, Outlook).
- Strong ERP/reporting system capability; ability to troubleshoot user issues and support system optimization.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret trends, and prepare meaningful reports.
Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training:
- Master’s degree (MBA or related field).
- Experience with ERP systems such as JDEdwards, SAP, or similar.
- Working knowledge of data integrity practices, electronic reporting systems, and mine-site cost structures.
- Lean/CI certification or experience leading improvement initiatives.
- Direct oversight of Accounting, IT, and Continuous Improvement leadership teams.
- Responsible for department staffing decisions, goal setting, performance management, and team development.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to meet the required physical demands, exerting up to15 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
