This position manages and monitors safety programs, policies and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements; evaluates the organization’s procedures, facilities, and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and implement safeguards and solutions.
- Conduct site safety, health environmental and quality audits
- Inspect site activities for safety compliance
- Manage onsite corrective actions
- Share findings with supervision for follow up
- Intervene atrisk activities
- Provide onsite review and training as required
- Provide consultation as needed
- Assist with incident reporting and root cause initiatives (injury/illness, property damage, etc.)
- Assist with reporting process
- Collect and verify incident reports
- Assist with the investigation analysis process and report
- Participate in industry conferences, programs, initiatives, etc.
- Conduct site safety and strive to inspect site activities for safety compliance
- Emphasize and reinforce the Company’s Zero Incident culture to all employees
- Lead, coordinate and review the department programs and policies
- Assist in internal DOT and SMS compliance audits and prepare reports to findings with recommendations for corrective action
- Provide safety training and implement company procedures and regulatory compliance
- Actively participate in selfdevelopment and growth opportunities
- Educate and develop a driving culture that encourages “See Something Say Something”
- Lead and promote safety behaviors, attend safety meetings, and strictly observe safety rules
- Ability to provide safety training and coaching
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety studies or related field required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in relevant safety field
- Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) certification preferred
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license with clean driving record
- Completion of OSHA 30hour Construction Standards preferred
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred
- 1926 and General Industry CFR 1910
