Bilingual Safety Manager

Benchmark Utility Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Safety Manager with a background in the construction industry, preferably with expertise in excavation and trenching safety. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing safety protocols for the company, ensuring staff members are well-informed on emergency preparedness, use of protective equipment, and accident procedures. Must have extensive knowledge in trenching and excavation.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.

- Provide safety-related training sessions, emergency protocols, and guidance on the proper use of safety equipment.

- Review and update existing safety policies and procedures.

- Oversee daily operations and identify opportunities to improve safety regulations.

- Perform safety audits and physically inspect all work areas and job sites to identify potential safety issues.

- Conduct risk assessments to minimize workplace accidents, occupational illnesses, and long-term health hazards.

- Prepare and present monthly or annual safety reports to management.

- Collaborate with management to plan and implement a safety protocol budget.

- Develop and catalog Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) specific to trenching and pipe laying.

- Present safety information and documentation to various General Contractors (GCs).

- Coordinate and schedule a team of 4-6 safety officers.

Requirements:

- A bachelor's degree in safety management, environmental safety, or a related field.

- Certification in occupational health and safety management.

- At least 3 years of experience as a Safety Director or Safety Manager in the construction industry.

- Excellent knowledge of OSHA standards and federal safety legislation.

- Solid understanding of potentially hazardous materials and practices in the workplace.

- Familiarity with writing health and safety policies and procedures.

- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting statistics.

- Working knowledge of safety management software.

- Must be bilingual (Speak English and Spanish).

- OSHA 500 certification.

- Excellent supervisory and leadership abilities.
