We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our team in the Commercial Door and Frame industry. As a Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding various metal components used in commercial door frames and related structures. The ideal candidate will possess strong welding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various metal types and gauges. This role requires precision, efficiency, and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
· Interpret drawings, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements.
· Fabricate and weld metal components such as door frames, hinges, thresholds, and other related structures.
· Measure and cut metal using various tools and equipment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
· Operate MIG welders to join metal pieces together.
· Conduct quality inspections of fabricated components to ensure they meet company standards and customer requirements.
· Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, performing regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
· Participate in training programs and stay updated on industry trends and advancements in fabrication and welding techniques.
· Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
· Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments to coordinate workflow and address any issues or concerns.
· Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficiency in reading/ interpreting drawings, and specifications.
· Ability to work with various metal types and gauges, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
· Strong work ethic and commitment to producing high-quality products.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in welding and fabrication is preferred.
· Proven experience as a welder/fabricator in the commercial door and frame industry or a related field.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently on a repetitive basis throughout the shift and assist with team lifts of items weighing up to 100 pounds.
· Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to safely perform job duties in environments where exposure to welding fumes, smoke, and airborne particles is present, with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Frequent exposure to heat, sparks, fumes, and airborne particles; appropriate PPE must be worn at all times.
· Required to wear steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as specified.
· Required to wear a welding helmet, welding gloves and other PPE for extended periods.
· Must be able to safely maneuver pallets and crates using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
· Must adhere to all safety protocols and always demonstrate a commitment to a safe working environment.
