Position Summary:
UGI Energy Services (UGIES) is seeking an Environmental Lead (EL) to assist Project and Operations Managers with siting, permitting, licensing, construction (pre, during and post), commissioning, and operational compliance requirements in support of UGIES’ Project & Construction Management, and Gas Operations teams. This position will work as part of the Environmental Department, and support other business groups and functions as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:•The EL will visit, as needed, sites in development, those under active construction, those to be commissioned, and/or currently under operation to conduct survey assessments related to feasibility, compliance, and maintenance.
•The EL will utilize developed plans and procedures related to Waste and SPCC/PPC Programs to coordinate data collection, training, and reporting for both external (e.g. PADEP 26R Reporting, etc.) and internal (e.g. ESG/Sustainability Reporting) needs.
•The EL will generate and/or review environmental permit applications, renewals, terminations, etc. for the PM/CM (Capital) and Gas Operations (O&M) groups, and assist with scope and schedule development, and budgeting.
•The EL will assist with air emissions (Scope 1) data tracking and entry for both external (e.g., USEPA, PADEP, OEPA, etc.) and internal (e.g., ESG/Sustainability Reporting) needs, in support of UGIES’ Environmental Air Engineer.
•The EL will join environmental-specific industry trade groups (e.g., ABC, PIOGA, INGAA, MSC, etc.) and keep a pulse on the ever-change regulations that have the potential to affect UGIES’ business.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Familiarity with environmental permitting (e.g., water, waste, air) and associated regulatory agencies (PADEP, OEPA, FERC, WVDEP, USEPA, etc.)
•Basic understanding of Renewal Natural Gas (RNG) construction, operations, and maintenance
•Ability to work closely with the Environmental Department personnel, as well as those within the BD, Engineering, Project & Construction Management, and Gas Operations departments as part of a highly collaborative environment
•Familiarity with agency-issued and industry Best Management Practices related to permitting, construction, and operation of assets
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Basic understanding of air compliance data collection, tracking, and reporting
•Basic understanding of waste compliance data collection, tracking, and reporting (e.g. PADEP 26R reporting)
•General knowledge of midstream NG assets, linear development, and facility projects
Education and Experience Required:
•4 year degree (e.g. Bachelors of Science)
