Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Internship

FC Ziegler is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern to join our team. This part-time internship offers an excellent opportunity for a junior or senior college student pursuing a degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and impactful work environment.

The intern will support EHS efforts in a variety of safety and environmental functions, contributing to the development and continuous improvement of workplace safety standards and compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities

 Assist in hazard identification, incident investigations, and safety audits

 Support ergonomic evaluations, equipment assessments, and data collection/entry

 Help maintain the chemical inventory and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

 Assist in the development and revision of safety policies and procedures

 Conduct safety research to support regulatory compliance and best practices

 Provide support in maintaining DOT driver files and assist with Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)

 Help with PPE standardization and inventory coordination

 Organize and schedule environmental and safety testing

 Learn and support aspects of Workers' Compensation claims

 Perform other duties as assigned to gain a broad understanding of EHS operations

Qualifications

 Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university in an Environmental, Health, and Safety program or a closely related field

 Standing as a junior or senior is required

 Available to work 10–20 hours per week

Knowledge and Skills

 Basic understanding of OSHA, ANSI, NIOSH, EPA, DEQ, and DOT

 Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills

 Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

 Self-motivated with a proactive approach to responsibilities

 Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or other data entry tools preferred

Physical Requirements

Moderate physical demands, including extended periods of sitting and standing
