FC Ziegler is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern to join our team. This part-time internship offers an excellent opportunity for a junior or senior college student pursuing a degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and impactful work environment.
The intern will support EHS efforts in a variety of safety and environmental functions, contributing to the development and continuous improvement of workplace safety standards and compliance programs.
Assist in hazard identification, incident investigations, and safety audits
Support ergonomic evaluations, equipment assessments, and data collection/entry
Help maintain the chemical inventory and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Assist in the development and revision of safety policies and procedures
Conduct safety research to support regulatory compliance and best practices
Provide support in maintaining DOT driver files and assist with Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
Help with PPE standardization and inventory coordination
Organize and schedule environmental and safety testing
Learn and support aspects of Workers' Compensation claims
Perform other duties as assigned to gain a broad understanding of EHS operations
Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university in an Environmental, Health, and Safety program or a closely related field
Standing as a junior or senior is required
Available to work 10–20 hours per week
Basic understanding of OSHA, ANSI, NIOSH, EPA, DEQ, and DOT
Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to responsibilities
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or other data entry tools preferred
Moderate physical demands, including extended periods of sitting and standing
As an EHS intern, you will be exposed to a broad spectrum of Environmental, Health, and Safety functions across diverse operational environments, including manufacturing, warehousing, retail stores, a wood shop, and an art studio.
