Job Summary
The Corporate Intern will develop a solid understanding of the department they are in as well as the overall business. The internship aims to provide our interns with challenging, real-world projects specific to their career path. Works within the department on day-to-day projects; projects will include but not be limited to activities related to process improvement, project management, data support, reporting (including Power BI dashboards), documentation, and other assigned responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
•Works within the department on day-to-day projects, which include but are not limited to activities related to process improvement, project management, data support, reporting, documentation, and other assigned responsibilities
•Builds relationships through meetings, events and one-on-ones with various employee owners and leaders
•Focuses on real-world projects within the department
•Collaborates with various departments throughout the company
Department Responsibilities
•Supports the safety department in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
•Administers the required information into the contractor management portals (ISNet, Avetta, Veri Force, Etc.) by uploading the required documents and trainings
•Verifies that Border States has a passing status within the compliance systems
•Collaborates with the Corporate Safety Specialist on continuous improvement ideas for refining the scores
•Oversees the safety boot voucher program & assists with the online codes
•Supports the safety scorecard data program and aides with daily questions
•Maintains the safety website – keeping abreast and uploading new information and documents that should be available to the company as a whole
Non-essential Functions
•Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate.
Qualifications
•Current student or new graduate (within last year) in a 2 or 4-year degree program.
•Strong knowledge of business office procedures, office equipment operation, data entry/keyboarding skills and communication systems helpful.
•Requires strong knowledge of PC for Windows and Microsoft Office 365.

•Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, reading, and customer service skills
•Ability to effectively plan and organize.
•Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive and engaged.
