Summary
This position which will be responsible for providing support for area field Environment, Health, & Safety under the direction of the EH&S Assurance Manager, the EH&S Intern is responsible for the EH&S Department’s training record maintenance and ensuring office safety leader inspections are maintained in Kodiak’s system data base.
Essential Duties
•Updates monthly EH&S training records within LMS system
•Maintains EH&S SharePoint site training records to ensure consistency and document integrity
•Tracks EH&S training and produces monthly training reports for EH&S Management.
•Participates in EH&S Safety meetings and acts as Scribe for committee minutes
•Tracks Emergency Office Leader Inspections within EH&S SharePoint site
Qualifications
General
•Willingness to learn new skills
•Ability to track electronic data and manage EH&S monthly reporting
•Ability to understand and implement workplace EH&S requirements as mandated by customers
•Periodic travel (approx. 10%) to operating territories in support of field EH&S organization
•As an individual contributor, ability to act as a leader and lead by example
•Excellent communication (both written and verbal) including the ability to discuss safety and environmental issues with people from diverse backgrounds, and in diverse settings
•Excellent time management and organization skills
•Proficient use of Microsoft suite of programs (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) for presentations and development of programs
•Must be able to use professional judgement and authority regarding personal safety
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and exemplify the concept of ‘Team Player’
•Must be goal oriented and have the ability to achieve goals and deliver business outcome
•Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage time pressures
•Ability to consider new ideas and demonstrate an inclusive behavior
•Must be able to adapt to change and still deliver business outcome
Education
•High school diploma required
•Post-secondary education preferred
Physical Demands
•Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. to waist height unaided
•Must be able to bend, climb, and walk on all types of surfaces
•Must be able to travel to field locations and work outside
