Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. Purpose

We areseeking two motivated Engineers in Training (EIT)to join our Tailings& Water Management team at Red Chris Mine. In this role, you will support the safe, responsible, and efficient operation of the tailings storage facility, water management systems, and associated infrastructure. You will gain valuable experience in tailings stewardship, geotechnical monitoring, water balance management, and regulatory compliance, while working under the mentorship of experienced engineers. The salary rnage for this role is between 83,000-111,000, based on relevent skills and experience.

Essential Duties

Assist with inspections, monitoring, and reporting of the tailings facility

Support the implementation of the Tailings Management System (TMS), including data collection, interpretation, and reporting to ensure compliance with Newmont Systems, the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM) and provincial regulations.
Participate in the development and review of tailings deposition and water balance models. Assist in planning and coordinating construction activities related to site tailings projects. Support geotechnical instrumentation monitoring programs, data collection, data analysis, and performance assessments.
Prepare technical reports, drawings, and presentations to support internal reviews and regulatory submissions.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and environmental teams to ensure integrated management of tailings and water systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of tailings operations.
Participate in field investigations, surveys, and data collection programs as required.


Training& Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, or Mining Engineering.
Registered (or eligible for registration) as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with Engineers& Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
1-3 years of relevant experience in mining, geotechnical engineering, or water/tailings management (co-op experience considered an asset). Strong interest in tailings stewardship, geotechnical engineering, and sustainable mining practices. Familiarity with geotechnical instrumentation, monitoring techniques, and relevant software (e.g., slope stability analysis, water balance modeling) is an asset.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Willingness to work in a remote mine site on a rotational basis.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$ . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
