Job Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager this entry-level position is responsible for coordinating and supporting engineering activities. The role requires technical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and excellent teamwork skills to be successful.

- Provides engineering assistance in support of others.

- Applies engineering knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction.

Job Description

- Collaborates in projects within scope, schedule, and cost, under supervision of an engineer licensed in Puerto Rico,

- Supports and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring basic engineering expertise.

- Assists and performs engineering tasks and projects associated with a critical or analytical engineering project or a small number of complex projects that require specialized knowledge.

- Reviews functional specifications for completeness and consider practical limitations.

- Participates in design activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.

- Supports development and updating single line diagrams, and design drawings, and equipment specifications, under supervision of a PR PE

- Supports QA/QC design review.

- Provides basic technical support to field and construction groups.

- Utilizes engineering processes and standards.

- Provides reporting, including presentations to work groups and management.

- Position may be required to work extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.

- Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description:

Education and Experience

- BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college.

- Zero to two years of professional engineering experience.

Licenses

- EIT Certificate issued by the Puerto Rico Examining Board for Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects.

Skills

- Interpersonal and relationship development skills.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Team player and ability to prioritize assignments to meet commitments.

- Problem-solving skills with ability to resolve engineering issues.

Preferred Qualifications

- 3.2 GPA or higher. BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college. Master’s degree in engineering.

- Working knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments.

- Experience in utility industry trade organizations.

- Experience with MS Office, 365, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
