We are seeking an experienced
End-to-End Solution Architectto serve as the architectural leader for a large-scale IT modernization initiative supporting a Federal Civilian agency. This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of engineering excellence and executive stakeholder engagement — ideal for a senior architect who thrives designing future-state enterprise solutions and translating complex technical strategy into clear, actionable roadmaps.
You will own the end-to-end architecture, guide cross-functional teams, govern architecture compliance, and directly shape how a critical federal mission system evolves for the next generation.
- Lead the design and ownership of end-to-end solution architecture aligned to mission and operational objectives; define system boundaries, interfaces, dependencies, and data flows
- Develop and maintain the target architecture, technology roadmap, and concept of operations in collaboration with customers, PMO leadership, and technical teams
- Drive architecture governance — establish review processes, define frameworks and best practices, and provide architectural review of engineering deliverables
- Conduct structured analyses of alternatives (AoA/trade studies) to evaluate and validate solution approaches before enterprise rollout
- Incorporate human factors, organizational change, and lifecycle cost considerations into architecture planning; support O&M cost optimization and sustainment strategy
- Create and present architecture artifacts, briefings, and documentation for both technical and executive audiences
- Mentor engineering teams on architectural patterns, emerging technologies, and solution engineering best practices
- Partner with UX, Product Management, and Operations to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions
- Support federal IT cybersecurity risk management processes and controls across the system lifecycle
- Active Secret clearance (or higher)
- 12+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect role- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field (4 years of additional experience may substitute)
- Demonstrated success leading architecture design for large, complex federal or enterprise systems
- Experience integrating architecture practices with PMO/program leadership, budget planning, contract strategy, and vendor management
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills — comfortable presenting to both senior leadership and technical teams
- Expertise in 3 or more of the following: Software Design & Development, Software Delivery & Operations, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, Infrastructure Services, Cloud Infrastructure, or Technology Modernization
- Strong written and oral communication skills; proven ability to lead and influence technical teams
- Experience developing formal architecture documentation artifacts and governing architecture compliance
- Deep expertise with
Azure cloud services
and cloud-native architecture design and migration
- Experience with
ServiceNow
platform development and integration
- Familiarity with advanced analytics, ML/Ops, and enterprise-scale data ingestion pipeline architecture
- Experience designing solutions for
classified environments
, including secure data integration and cross-domain transfers
- Knowledge of
DevSecOps
principles and secure development practices
- Experience with formal EA/SA methodologies: UAF, TOGAF, Arcadia, ArchiMate, SysMLv2
- Experience designing and operationalizing
Generative AI / LLM-based capabilities
within enterprise environments, including governance, safety controls, and production integration
- Experience integrating architecture with
SAFe® Agile
development methodologies
- Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native application design
- Relevant certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, SAFe®, TOGAF, ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect or Certified Master Architect
