As part of PICA's data analysis and reporting team, you will be responsible for the interpretation of Remote Field Eddy Current Technology’s (RFT) electromagnetic data. Using an in-house suite of analysis software tools, you will identify and measure corrosion signals from a variety of pipelines, including those in the oil & gas, municipal water & wastewater, nuclear and other industries. Your work will directly impact the decision making of pipeline asset owners in their asset management programs. Primary duties will be carried out remotely (i.e. home office). Condition assessment reports are generated at the conclusion of each project.
· This position is open to all academic backgrounds, with a preference given to those in the math, sciences, and engineering fields.
· Knowledge/Experience in eddy current technologies and/or the water distribution industry an asset, but not required.
- Detailed review and digitization of pipeline drawings (As-builts, Plan and Profiles, Lay Schedules);
- Review of project documents from proposals, contracts, inspection plans and engineering drawings;
- Data QC to confirm tool health and data integrity immediately following field inspections;
- Assist in generating condition assessment reports that document the inspection process and analysis findings.
- Although you will be part of a team, your work will be largely conducted remotely with company supplied equipment. Remote working conditions demand extreme dedication, discipline, and self-motivation.
- Project teams are usually comprised of 2-3 analysts, which include a Senior Analyst to oversee and review the process. Constant collaboration with the team is expected.
- Due to the protection of PICA's intellectual property, all PICA employees are required to sign confidentiality agreements. PICA employees are also required to pass any background and/or drug testing if deemed necessary by our clients.
- Comprehensive review of electromagnetic data and multi-sensor data from PICA’s various NDT service offerings.
- Using PICA’s proprietary in-house analysis software, processing, and conditioning of electromagnetic data in preparation for defect analysis.
- Identification and correlation of major signal anomalies related to pipeline features, nominal wall thickness changes and pipe material differences.
- Identification and measurement of corrosion signals.
- Using PICA’s proprietary in-house analysis software, processing, and conditioning of multi-sensor (acoustic, accelerometer, magnetometer, pressure) data in preparation for analysis.
- Identification and correlation of major signal anomalies related to pipeline features, nominal wall thickness changes and pipe material differences.
- Identification of air pockets and leaks.
· Keen eye for pattern recognition and observance of subtle signal deviations in electromagnetic data set.
· Strong analytical, organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
· Strong computer skills especially in Word, Excel, Power Point and CRM’s
· Ability to work in a team environment.
· Ability to coordinate with multiple departments internally & externally.
· Ability to take initiative and work independently.
· Able to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities and projects.
