The Electrical Maintenance Specialist Steelmaking is responsible for trouble shooting, installation, predictive and preventive maintenance on all electrical & automation components while coordinating maintenance activities and providing guidance to the maintenance execution team and contractors to perform planned / unplanned maintenance, and train maintenance execution team members. This role will also support utilization and availability of electrical spare parts under the point quality and costs and is responsible for analysis, coordination, and cooperative efforts for maintenance needs.
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance applications in an industrial environment
- Team leadership experience; can be project leadership
- Knowledge in power feeding and distribution systems
- Knowledge in motors and drives and technological functions
- Knowledge in process data acquisition systems (IBA), HMI Systems
- Knowledge in network technology (Ethernet)
- Knowledge of High Voltage and construction techniques
- Demonstrates knowledge of how to use electrical tools, meters, Meggers, and other electrical testing equipment
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering a plus
- Knowledge in SAP
- Steelmaking 5 electrical maintenance experience
- Siemen TIA portal training and Experience
- MV Relay protection systems Experience
- Siemens EPMS Training and Experience
- Experience and knowledge in power distribution systems from 35kV – 480V, motors, variable frequency drives, automation systems, measurement systems, instrumentation equipment, and hydraulic systems
- Experience with Siemens (Simotion & Sinamics) drive systems
- Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Able to competently handle a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material

- Troubleshooting and Maintenance of Low & Medium Voltage Power Distribution systems such 35kV Switchgear, Dry Type & oil filled MV Transformers, 480V Switchgear, Motor Control Centers
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance of Large AC Motors (700kW – 12000kW)
- Analyzing, solving, and reporting of electrical problems and failures
- Perform and assist in Lock Out Try Out of equipment, systems, and sub-systems
- Continuous improvement of the equipment reliability by developing and reviewing PM’s
- Work with Planning and scheduling for PM and corrective work order execution
- Conducting maintenance activities utilizing SAP software (Notifications, Work orders, Spare Parts, Service Entries, etc.)
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs) on lengthy delays within a team environment and execute Corrective Actions (CAs) to mitigate future occurrences
- Developing and Auditing Energy Control Procedures (ECPs) to ensure the safety of team members performing work on mill equipment
- Writing of electrical maintenance work instructions and HIRAC development
- Conducting safety inspections and incident investigations / reports
- Coordinating work of different crafts, company departments, and / or other contractors
- Ensure work order reporting is accurate
- Provide technical leadership for contractors and maintenance teams.
- Research industry best practices, troubleshoot and detect process failure modes
- Ensures the coordination and cooperation with the Specialists in Mechanical Maintenance for the area
- Take part in the daily meetings and briefings on maintenance situations
- Care and support the SAP PM System regarding electrical maintenance items
