Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Metallurgical Engineer opportunity in Jonesborough, TN.
We are seeking an accomplished Metallurgist with deep expertise in physical metallurgy, advanced manufacturing processes, and materials engineering. The ideal candidate brings a proven record of technical leadership, hands‑on process development, and cross‑functional team management within fast‑paced, safety‑critical manufacturing environments. This role will drive materials innovation, support production operations, and lead technology maturation efforts from concept through full‑scale deployment.
- Lead development, characterization, and qualification of metallic materials including refractory metals, nickel‑based alloys, ferrous alloys, ceramics, and powder metallurgy systems.
- Oversee metallurgical investigations, failure analyses, and process optimization initiatives.
- Apply expertise in casting, powder metallurgy, machining, rapid manufacturing, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) to support both R&D and production operations.
- Utilize laboratory and analytical tools
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical discipline
- Master’s Degree or Ph.D. preferred
