Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drafter to join our engineering and drafting team. The ideal candidate will create models and detailed technical drawings for custom grain handling equipment and structural components. You will collaborate with sales, production teams and engineers to translate concepts and specifications into fabrication and welding-ready drawings, ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards, and support for our custom manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, schematics, and assemblies using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.

· Interpret customer sketches and specifications to produce approval and shop drawings, bill of materials, and fabrication details for welded structures, bins, receiving stations, and material handling systems.

· Revise and update existing drawings based on customer requirements, production feedback, or engineering specifications.

· Collaborate with project teams to proactively identify custom design requirements and ensure drawings meet structural, safety, and manufacturing standards.

· Prepare documentation for production, including layouts, elevations, and assembly instructions.

· Maintain organized drawing files and libraries.

· Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting processes.

Qualifications

· Associate's degree or certificate in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.

· Preferred 1-3 years of experience in CAD drafting, in manufacturing, mechanical design, or agricultural/industrial equipment. Those without experience will be considered.

· Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to visualize 3D objects from 2D drawings.

· Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD required; experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling tools is a plus).

· Strong understanding of mechanical drafting and engineering principles.

· Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, structural steel design, or material handling equipment is highly desirable.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite for documentation and communication.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
