Job Description
Weatherford is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Strategic Marketing. In this pivotal role, you will lead the global strategic marketing team in monitoring and gathering market, industry, regulatory, and geopolitical intelligence. Through data analysis, you will identify opportunities, risks, and trends to support the development and validation of an effective global commercial strategy for the current situation and future outlook. As the subject matter expert on the industry, you will provide valuable insights to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Geozone leadership regarding market opportunities and risks in the evolving landscape. Additionally, you will liaise with Product Line leadership to emphasize market white space, trends, and commercial strategies, demonstrating global-scale opportunities.
Requirements•Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
•Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the oilfield services industry, with a proven track record of success in strategic marketing, business development, and commercial strategy roles.
•Proven experience in market, industry, and geopolitical analysis, effective risk analysis, and accurate identification of market opportunities and risks.
•Demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering high-level commercial intelligence.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in the oilfield services and oilfield equipment businesses, along with a solid understanding of the industry and all factors that impact it.
•Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including coaching, mentoring formally and informally.
•Demonstrated resilience, persistence, and creative passion in building trust with all stakeholders, particularly when driving change – processes and people.
•Ability to relate and influence at all levels within own and client organizations, and an effective communicator (written and verbal) of commercial strategy and operational execution.
Strategic & Analytical
•Strong grasp of geopolitical dynamics, macroeconomic trends, and regulatory developments affecting the oilfield sector.
•Proficiency in market modeling, risk analysis, and forecasting tools.
•Experience with data analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
•Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable business insights for executive-level decision-making.
Leadership & Communication
•Proven success in leading cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
•Skilled in influencing senior stakeholders, including ELT and Product Line leaders.
•Excellent communication and presentation abilities—able to translate strategy into clear, concise executive-level narratives.
•Clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their team and drive organizational communication & validation throughout the geozones and with leadership as appropriate.
•Preparation and delivery of high-quality presentations to geozone leaderships and senior executives internally and externally.
Business Development & Change Management
•Demonstrated experience in driving commercial growth initiatives, identifying white space opportunities, and supporting go-to-market strategy development.
•Comfortable operating in a matrix environment, driving alignment across multiple business units and regions.
Travel Requirement
•This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to 10-25%.
