Job Overview
RMG Erectors & Constructors is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to work out of our NJ office leading the HR department by managing various HR functions and ensuring compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations. This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working as part of a C-Suite team and has a strong understanding of human resources practices, strategic planning, and the ability to foster a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and training development while utilizing HR technology effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Provides HR guidance and counseling to employees and managers regarding all HR matters including career development, recruiting, performance management, compensation, training, and company policies.
•Manages and addresses complex employee relations issues with management group for appropriate resolution.
•Work closely with local legal counsel to implement HR programs in international offices.
•Handling employee relations, including dispute resolution.
•Navigates, implements, and ensures compliance with OSHA safety practices and procedures and other local or state agencies, as necessary.
•In conjunction with in-house counsel, maintains compliance with federal and state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation
•Maintains all personnel records and upholds company confidentiality policy.
•Serves as subject matter expert on employee relations.
•Creates an environment of positive employee relations, keeps confidentiality, establishes trust and credibility, seen by employees as approachable and fair, balances business needs with employee needs, and spends significant time interfacing directly with employees/client base
•Implement Positive Employee Relations strategies and promotes positive company culture throughout all office locations.
•Processes workers’ compensation, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and Leave of Absence paperwork and follows up with all injuries/illnesses reported.
•Works with providers to oversee employee health insurance and 401k plans.
•Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to improve retention strategies.
Preferred but NOT required - fluent in Spanish*
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred degree in Human Resources, Business, Business/Administration, Education, Human Resources Management, Military, Psychology, Management, Manufacturing, MBA.
•At least 5 years’ experience in a human resources managerial position.
•Experience working in the construction industry a plus.
•Familiarity with ClickUp and DropBox a plus.
