Our rapidly-growing contract mining company has an immediate need for a Director of Human Resources.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Human Resource function including: employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, talent acquisition, and organizational development.
This role serves as a key advisor to senior leadership in ensuring that Human Resource strategies align with overall business goals to foster a high-performance, people-centered culture. We employ over 650 individuals across a number of states and that number continues to grow. Our mid-sized company still has an entrepreneurial feel and the candidate will be expected to wear several hats as we scale the business.

Duties and Responsibilities: (this is not a comprehensive list and other duties and responsibilities may be required from time to time)
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term goals.
Oversee recruiting, onboarding, workforce planning and succession planning to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent as well in addition to being well-positioned for future growth.
Promote a positive work environment, handle conflict resolution and implement initiatives that support employee engagement and retention.
Create, update and enforce HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Design and implement competitive compensation structures and manage benefit programs that attract and motivate employees while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Lead the performance appraisal process, set competency & performance metrics, and teach, coach and train managers on effective feedback and goal setting.
Leverage HR technologies and data analytics to improve efficiency and inform strategic decisions.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years of progressive Human Resource management experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Deep knowledge of employment law, Human Resources best practices and organizational development.
Proven ability to lead and influence at all levels of the organization.
Experience with HR platforms, benefits administration and data-driven decision-making.
Working Conditions: Primarily office-based with occasional travel to regional offices, as required.
