The Director of Human Resources will provide leadership to the human resources department by facilitating and participating in setting the company’s overall strategic direction, managing and supporting the assessment of organizational needs, overseeing the design, implementation and evaluation of programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of employees, managing and supporting the assessment of organizational needs, along with leading human resource activities: mitigating risk, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all employees, working to provide a safe and comfortable work environment, promoting and growing our culture. This position is responsible for the development and administration of human resources, training, environmental, health and safety, and spiritual care.

- Responsible for creating, maintaining and being accountable to an annual expense budget

- Develop and implement strategic business objectives.
- Provide guidance and leadership for the development and delivery of innovative improvement courses for all employees of Alexandria Industries that will build and grow their talents. Responsible for guiding and leading the training coordinator in researching, identifying and choosing the proper vehicle, programs and tools to develop timely and effective training programs.
- Oversee the spiritual care given to Alexandria Industries employees and their families
- Develop and build programs supporting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into corporate strategies and daily practices that serve to advance positive and inclusive experiences for our employees.
- Provide guidance and support to the overall function of Human Resources within I.; recruiting, organizational planning and development, performance management and improvement programs, employment law and compliance, policy development and documentation, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, charitable giving and employee services and counseling
- Strong understanding of, as well as continued education of employment law to stay relevant and current on employment law changes for those states where Alexandria Industries operates currently (MN and IN).
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships (internal and external)
- Work to continuously improve quality standards to provide service that exceeds customer expectations
- Maintain and improve human resources information systems to best support employees

- Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related program required
- HR Certification preferred (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, APHR, AIHR,)- 10+ years of progressive human resources experience - 5+ years of human resource leadership experience
- Experience working for a manufacturing company preferred
