Directional Drill Operator/Class A CDL

Operate Horizontal Directional Drill to bore holes in the earth.

Maintain and repair drilling equipment.

Monitor drilling operations to ensure safety and efficiency.

Inspect drill sites for potential hazards.

Must always maintain working equipment.

The technician will be expected to be on time and complete service calls in a timely manner.

Follow instructions from supervisors.

Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.

Perform site clean-up.

Travels to and from job sites

Loads and unloads materials on the truck.

Performs all phases of general and underground construction including but not limited to loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weights of construction materials and equipment.

Restores and repairs all disturbed property.

Always maintain safe working habits/conditions.

Performs other duties as assigned.

2 plus years as an experienced Driller working in all types of ground.

Class A CDL

A positive can-do attitude and openness to trying things in new ways.

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience in the telecommunications or underground utilities industry is a plus.

Working knowledge of basic hand tools and mechanical equipment

Ability to travel to wherever the job is needed.

A valid driver’s license and must be insurable.

Be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen.

Must be able and willing to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours, work outdoors, and in inclement weather conditions.

Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 40 to 90 pounds.

Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewmen and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.

Must be able to operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.

Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while performing work.

Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hard hats, and any applicable safety gear.
