Role Overview:
As a Diesel Mechanic at Waste Pro, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty and light-duty trucks, including diesel, gasoline, and CNG systems. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. You'll play a key role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and productive.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and more.
- Complete repairs identified on DVIRs and repair orders.
- Communicate effectively with managers and drivers about vehicle issues and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant work area.
- Use vehicle electronics and service manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Provide guidance and assistance to junior technicians and shop helpers.
- Strong knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and service manuals.
- Ability to complete repairs within Suggested Repair Times (SRTs).
- CDL Class B preferred (must obtain within 12 months).
- High standards of ethics, dependability, and safety.

- Attend and actively participate in corporation-sponsored training courses as assigned.
- Stay current on technology and equipment used by Waste Pro, as relevant to the role.

- Maintain stamina to sustain a steady work pace throughout the day.
- Properly utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Frequent entry and exit from commercial motor vehicles (50–100 times per day).
- Lift unassisted:
- 50–75 pounds from floor to waist
- 50 pounds from floor to shoulder height
- 50 pounds from floor to overhead
- Push and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Frequent bending at knees and waist (100–200 times/day).
- Frequent overhead or extended arm reaching (100–200 times/day).
- Frequent twisting at the waist (100–200 times/day).
- Work in extreme temperatures and varying weather conditions, including road calls.
- Primarily indoors and outdoors, with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
