Demand Planner - Senior - 9371
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Demand Planner facilitates seamless business practices between MacLean Power Systems and internal and external customers via thought leadership, process and technology recommendations, report development, implementation and on-going enhancements to processes, procedures, system changes, etc.
Job Duties
- Responsible for executing the 80/20 strategy as it pertains to inventory management across the business unit
- Lead the dialogue across co-dependent functions such as Sales, Purchasing, Production Management, Production, IT and Transportation in support of the 80/20 business strategy
- Protect the financial performance of the business by identifying and communicating potential supply chain impact
- Participate in the financial budgeting process
- Advise sales, product management, and executive leadership of stocking level plan accuracy, service level and inventory level performance
- Conduct detailed analysis of actual demand at the SKU level to identify shifts in customer behavior and areas of opportunity
- Lead Demand Planning team to analyze demand behavior, gather Business Intelligence, review recommended product stocking levels with functions as appropriate
- Manage key control information related to demand planning such as stocking levels, product lead times, and 80/20 status
- Execute inventory strategies for existing items, new products, and product phase-outs, working with Product managers and plant personnel as needed.
- Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to create the stock status and inventory level reports (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, and order status)
- Develop and distribute reports to be used in inventory and forecast planning meetings with Sales and Product Managers
- Continuously refine the stocking levels using analysis tools and business intelligence to reflect most current business assumptions based on changes in demand, market activities and market trends.
- Manage demand exceptions and inordinate demand within rules of 80/20
- Represent Demand and Inventory Planning in changes and system implementation of JDE
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles
- Perform complex tasks typically following established processes
- Lead and direct the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions
- Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures; may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning and procedural change
- Typically require a bachelor's degree and at least 5-10 years of experience; masters preferred
- APICS (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent certification in demand planning, supply chain management preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred)

Salary Range: $88k - $98k
