Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and versatile Customer Service Associate to join our team in Elk Grove Village. This role is critical to ensuring smooth communication between our customers and internal operations, while also supporting key shipping, receiving, and production workflows. The ideal candidate will help manage customer orders, assist with job entry and updates, and grow into a flexible support role capable of handling the same responsibilities as the operations leadership team.
- Weigh incoming and outgoing parts and accurately prepare job tickets and shipping paperwork.
· Enter shop orders into the system; assist with daily order flow and production coordination.
· Answer phones and serve as a main point of contact for customer inquiries.
· Proactively follow up on customer orders and communicate status updates to the team or customers directly.
· Monitor and help manage the Promise/Rush List, ensuring priority jobs stay on schedule.
· Assist with pulling and running customer-specific reports.
· Greeting and assist customers during drop-offs and pickups; must be capable of operating a forklift for loading/unloading.
· Support potential billing tasks and job completion documentation.
· Provide flexible shift coverage; primarily support second shift but must be able to start earlier on occasion to cover for team members.
· Adaptable to perform a wide range of duties is to eventually be capable of covering all customer service and operational tasks handled by the leadership team.
Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat in a timely manner.
Handle customer inquiries with empathy and professionalism, aiming for resolution.

· Previous experience in customer service, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing preferred.
· Strong communication skills with a proactive and professional approach to customer interaction
· Basic computer/data entry proficiency and willingness to learn internal systems.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate forklift equipment (training provided if needed)
· Must be organized, detail-oriented, and flexible in task management and scheduling

- Fork lift experience a plus
- Work schedule: This role typically overlaps with second shift for order entry support. You must have flexibility to work an earlier shift as needed.
