Shipping and Receiving Associate/Driver – 1st Shift

This Shipping and Receiving Associate/Driver will be based at the Cleves location. Mon-Thurs 5am-3pm, but overtime will be required as needed.
JOB SUMMARY: The Shipping/Receiving/Driver role is a key position within the shipping department. This position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares items for shipment and moves product within the facility. There is also a driving component to this role whereas this person will be driving a box truck, or flatbed truck to transport product to and from various facilities.
- Prep skids for shipment, load/unload trucks.
- Complete shipping paperwork and organize department.
- Plan for daily, weekly and future shipments.
- Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
- Operates the stretch wrap banders.
- Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
- Responsible for planning for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand always.
- Maintain work area & equipment in a clean & orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Driving - Required to make pickups and deliveries to our suppliers for parts and raw materials using a company box truck or flatbed truck.
- Maintains reliable and regular attendance.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s license with good driving record.
- Must be 18 years of age and be able to pass a DOT physical and written exam.
- Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Able to lift minimum of 50 lbs. throughout the day, and stand for long periods of time.
