Receiving and Shipping Associate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying merchandise, and coordinating material deliveries. This position involves both physical labor and administrative tasks, including operation of forklifts and overhead cranes.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

Key Responsibilities:

- Verify and maintain records on all incoming and outgoing shipments.

- Prepare and package items for shipment, including assembling, addressing, stamping, sealing, labeling, and palletizing materials.

- Load and unload shipments using forklifts and overhead cranes.

- Deliver or route materials to appropriate departments using hand trucks, forklifts, or cranes.

- Examine shipment contents and compare against manifests, invoices, or orders for accuracy.

- Record and report shipment data including weights, space availability, damages, or discrepancies.

- Requisition and store shipping supplies to maintain adequate inventory.

- Coordinate with team members for timely shipping and delivery of materials.

- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:

- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform physical tasks including climbing.

- Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes (certification preferred).

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Basic computer and recordkeeping skills.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
