Crossroads Utility Services, LLC is seeking a qualified Contract General Manager to fill its growing business portfolio of operations and maintenance utility contracts in the Greater Austin-area. This position will handle oversight of Crossroads’ utility contracts in the South Austin, Kyle, Bastrop, and Dripping Springs metro areas. Ideal candidate should reside within 15 miles of Buda, TX and be able to report to the company’s South office located in Bee Cave, TX on a routine basis, client facility sites, and periodic meetings at the company’s headquarters and administration office in Round Rock, TX. The Contract General Manager (CGM) is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of contract management over an assigned portfolio. The CGM will be assigned to represent municipal utility district clients, oversee the delivery of contract utility services by Crossroads, and provide general utility client relations and marketing. The CGM serves as the primary point of accountability for assigned contracts and is responsible for ensuring contractual compliance, operational performance, financial oversight, and client satisfaction.
- Assuming responsibility for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of a utility contract service;
- Formulating strategies and coordinating implementation of multiple utility projects with internal staff and/or outside consultants and contractors;
- Making recommendations to senior staff on new business opportunities and service offerings;
- Reviewing and tracking the financial performance of all contracts assigned;
- Coordinating with operations staff, technical consultants, contractors, engineers, attorneys, and client boards to address utility operations, regulatory compliance, construction, billing, and customer service matters;
- Compiling monthly reports for utility clients and senior staff;
- Monitoring compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and service performance standards.
- Making presentations to boards, commissions, city councils, or community association meetings
- Adhering to all state, federal, and company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions
- Working on assigned special projects across all Crossroads business functions; and
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
- The ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines;
- A self-driven work ethic needing minimal supervision to complete assigned work;
- Industry knowledge of water and wastewater utility operations, maintenance, utility billing, meter reading, and customer service in municipal environments;
- General knowledge of financial management, utility budgeting, and accounting principles;
- Experience presenting utility and customer service-related information to municipal clients and the general public;
- A proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; and
- A valid driver's license (required)
- High school diploma with 5–10 years of related utility management experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, engineering, or related field with 2–5 years of related experience; or
- TCEQ Water and/or Wastewater treatment licensing (A or B preferred)
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with municipal utility districts (MUDs) (preferred)
