Nino Development is a dynamic and rapidly growing construction firm specializing in high-quality commercial and industrial projects across the U.S. With a focus on innovation, operational excellence, and client satisfaction, we pride ourselves on delivering reliable results in sectors such as data centers, light industrial, mission-critical infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing. As we expand into new markets, we are seeking a visionary and driven Vice President of Business Development (VP of BD) to lead and scale our growth initiatives.
Position Overview:
As the Vice President of Business Development, you will play a mission-critical role in shaping the future of Nino Development. This is not just a sales role—it's a strategic leadership position. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for building and leading a national business development strategy focused on long-term client partnerships, market expansion, and high-impact growth in the construction space. You’ll work cross-functionally with our operations, estimating, marketing, and executive teams to align business opportunities with the company’s strategic vision.
This is a remote role, but the ideal candidate must be based in Boston, MA, due to regular in-person leadership meetings, key client interactions, and regional market focus.
Key Responsibilities:
•Define and execute a scalable national business development strategy with a focus on large-scale commercial, mission-critical, and industrial construction projects.
•Identify and build relationships with high-value prospects including developers, architects, general contractors, and end clients in key verticals.
•Lead the entire deal lifecycle—from prospecting and qualification to proposal development, negotiation, and contract close.
•Act as a strategic partner to executive leadership to shape company positioning, go-to-market planning, and expansion into new markets or service lines.
•Represent Nino Development at industry conferences, networking events, and client presentations as a thought leader and brand ambassador.
•Build and lead a high-performance business development team as growth scales.
•Partner closely with operations and preconstruction to ensure seamless client handoff, project alignment, and satisfaction.
•Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry dynamics to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
•8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships in the construction industry.
•Proven track record of closing complex deals in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction environments.
•Deep understanding of the construction project lifecycle, from preconstruction through delivery.
•Exceptional strategic thinking and negotiation skills.
•Ability to build long-term relationships based on trust, value, and results.
•Experience leading or mentoring business development or sales teams.
•Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
•Self-motivated, resourceful, and entrepreneurial mindset.
•Must be based in or near Boston, MA, and willing to travel occasionally for client meetings, events, and site visits.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Existing client network in key sectors such as data centers, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, or industrial.
•Prior experience in an executive or senior leadership role within a construction or real estate development firm.
