Construction Laborer

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer that will provide materials to, and support masons involved with block, brick and stone work, as well as general clean up, liftin/moving miscellaneous construction material and equipment around the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•

Handle bags of sand, grout, lime, and cement; transport and distribute masonry

•

Erect and dismantle scaffolding; clean work area and restock supplies

•

Spread mortar for base and binder; apply mortar and set blocks

•

Level, align, and embed blocks; remove excess mortar and finish seams

•

Break blocks to fit smaller areas; determine alignment using plumb-bob, gauge line, and level

•

Build relationships with diverse individuals; perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

•

Previous experience working on a construction site preferred

•

Ability to read and interpret documents (safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals), work independently or under broad assignments, and follow standard instructions

•

Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback

•

Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements

+ Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
