Computer and Network Technician

TECHNICIAN

At Louisiana Energy and Power Authority (LEPA), our mission is to provide firm, reliable, and economical wholesale power and energy to Louisiana municipalities. We are seeking a skilled technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise to troubleshoot and repair various electrical control systems, computers, and computer peripherals within an electric utility setting. Strong work ethic and a solid understanding of data communications are essential. Experience with Energy Management Systems, Remote Terminal Units, and industrial electrical meters is a plus.

Position Details

- Location: Lafayette, LA

- Minimum Pay: $25.04 per hour

- Availability: Only one position available

Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot and repair systems and equipment based upon verbal and/or written requests

- Perform prescribed calibrations and preventive maintenance on systems, facilities, and equipment

- Maintain neat, accurate, and concise maintenance and inventory records

- Provide technical assistance to other technical personnel and outside consultants when required

Required Qualifications

- High School diploma or equivalent education

- Strong work ethic

- Solid understanding of data communications and networking

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in the maintenance of metering, relaying, computers, peripherals, and electronic equipment

- Familiar with Energy Management System

- Experience with Remote Terminal Units or electrical meters
