Level 1 CNC Setup

About the Role

We are seeking a Level 1 CNC Setup Person to join our precision manufacturing team. This setup role is designed for individuals with a strong foundation in CNC operation and some experience in machine setups. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to develop their skills while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate CNC machines while maintaining high productivity and quality.

- Perform setups on 3-axis mills and/or 2-axis lathes with minimal assistance, meeting routed setup times.

- Accurate use of Calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, optical comparators

- Perform basic inspection setups using bore gages, air gages, basic surface plate setups.

- Demonstrate knowledge of basic math skills and metric/imperial conversions

- Stay focused and on-task in a dynamic production environment.

- Understand and apply knowledge of basic tooling geometry.

- Read and interpret setup sheets.

Qualifications

- Previous CNC machine operation and setup experience.

- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers).

- Knows common G codes and M functions by memory.

- Basic understanding of CNC programs and machine functions.

- Solid math skills, including unit conversions.

- Strong attention to detail and safety mindset.

- Ability to follow instructions and remain focused under pressure.

Compensation

- Hourly Rate: $20 – $25/hr DOE

- Eligible for a discretionary annual profit-sharing bonus based on both company and individual performance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
