Job Qualifications:

- High School Graduate

- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Knowledge of or ability to learn the following:

Set up and operate machine tools

Read blueprints

Use measuring tools for the purpose of meeting customer specifications

- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools including drill press, milling machine, lathe, grinding equipment, threading machines and various other machine shop equipment.

- Determine cutting parameters required, i.e., feed rates, surface footage, depth of cut and machine rates.

- Manufacture parts to specifications and document all procedures used. Maintain fixturing.

- Check work manufactured to assure that it meets drawing specifications by using micrometers, gauges and optical inspection equipment. Complete required Quality Control and Traveler paperwork correctly.

- Troubleshoot and repair Continental Cable machinery as required.

- Assist Project Engineer in research and development projects.

- Ability to oversee projects as assigned, including outside contractors working within the facility.

- Promote teamwork and continual improvement.

- Maintain machine maintenance as determined by preventive maintenance schedule. Keep department orderly.

- The manufacture of machined parts requires the following physical abilities:

- Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s).

- Handling by seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with the hand or hands.

- Standing for extended periods of time.

- Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.

- Lifting, carrying objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.

- Pushing, pulling objects weighing 30 lbs. or less.

- Knowledge that Continental Cable is an ISO/AS certified company and understands the Quality Policy.

- Maintain a safe work environment at all times and follow all Continental Cable safety policies including safety glasses, work shoes and all required personal protection equipment.

- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 per hour
