CNC Lathe & Mill Operators 1st (5-8 hour days Monday-Friday), 2nd & 3rd Shift (4-10 hour days Monday-Thursday)
- The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for producing high-quality machined parts by operating CNC (computer numerical control) machines and other equipment.
- Prepares and operates CNC machines to perform such tasks as turning, drilling, milling, and tapping.
- Performs offsets on CNC equipment.
- Monitors tool wear and performs tool changes as necessary.
- Prepares and loads raw materials and parts onto or into machines.
- Follows written instructions, process plans, and blueprints.
- Basic understanding of GD&T and/or other dimensional standards.
- Monitors machines during production to ensure optimal efficiency and quality.
- Uses measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gage pins, thread gages, dial indicators, and optical comparator to verify parts are within specification.
- Performs periodic inspections to ensure process accuracy using blueprints and inspection sheets.
- Utilizes material handling equipment as required.
- Record all machine actions by completing production logs, inspection logs, and all other required documentation.
- Interacts with ERP system and computers as required.
- Performs daily operator maintenance on CNC machines.
- Uses additional manufacturing equipment as necessary (e.g. deburring tools, belt sanders, buffing wheels, drill press)
- Follows all departmental work procedures and company policies, including all company safety policies.
- Participates in maintaining the company’s quality system and adheres to standard operating procedures as applicable.
- Participates in employee training programs and communication meetings.
- Ensures the work area and equipment are properly maintained to provide a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
- Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.
Technical Capacity, Communication Proficiency, Time-Management, Self-motivation, Initiative, Problem Solving/Analytical, Organizational Skills, High level of Accuracy, Attention to detail, Solid Math Skills, Basic computer skills. Set-Up experience is value added!
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up-to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
High school diploma or general education development (GED) required
1-2 years machine operator experience preferred'
