Description

Calibration Technician III performs advanced calibration support activities, specializing in the calibration of mechanical, electrical, and electronic test, measuring, and diagnostic instruments. This role requires significant technical expertise and the ability to operate with minimal supervision, applying independent judgment and initiative to complex calibration tasks.


Qualifications

· Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic theory, with a deep understanding of both fundamental and complex principles.

· Expertise in using a wide range of test and measurement equipment, tools, and procedures for calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic instruments.

· Mastery in operating test equipment and tools for calibrating instruments that generate and measure voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, and other parameters, ensuring strict compliance with manufacturer specifications, including accuracy, repeatability, and resolution etc.

· Strong ability to analyze and interpret electrical and/or signal schematic diagrams, technical reference materials, and apply this knowledge to troubleshooting and calibration processes.

· Extensive experience in the operation and applications of computerized automatic test equipment (ATE), including oscilloscopes, signal/pulse generators, frequency counters, and precision meters, to conduct detailed calibration procedures and compare readings against known standards.

· Advanced problem-solving abilities to identify, diagnose, and correct calibration issues with minimal supervision.

· Excellent customer service focus, with strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills to collaborate effectively across teams.

· High proficiency in industrial software, including but not limited to POR, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and other relevant applications.

· Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to junior calibration technicians and assist in the development of best practices.


Experience/Education Required:

· Extensive experience in the calibration of test, measuring, and diagnostic instrumentation, with a proven track record of independent work on complex systems.

· A degree from a two-year college, an accredited vocational or technical school with coursework in electrical and electronic technology, or graduation from an electronics program is generally preferred. Significant relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for formal education.

· Certifications in calibration or related fields are highly desirable.


Duties

· Set up and prepare complex equipment and calibration standards, ensuring proper calibration conditions are met before performing calibration activities.

· Calibrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic test, measurement, and diagnostic instruments, including complex or specialized equipment that requires advanced calibration techniques.

· Maintain thorough and accurate records of calibration activities, including calibration dates, results, deviations, corrective actions, and compliance to standards.

· Perform complex repairs, adjustments, or recalibrations to instruments when necessary, utilizing advanced troubleshooting skills. If required, escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or management.

· Review and approve calibration results from junior technicians, providing oversight to ensure compliance with quality standards.

· Report any out-of-tolerance results, potential issues, or deviations to senior management or supervisors, offering recommendations for corrective action.

· Develop and improve calibration procedures and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy in calibration tasks.

· Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices.

· Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability to meet the needs of the team and organization.


Special Requirements

- Ability to work overtime, weekends or holidays as needed.


- Lifting to 55 pounds required.


- OSHA 10 Training


- First Aid/CPR/AED Training

- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

- Minimum of 6 months as a level III


- Completion of level III evaluation

- Recommendation of rating senior to move to level IV.


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: From $29.09 per hour
