We are seeking a Buyer/Planner to manage all activities related to the planning and purchasing of materials used in the company’s production and administrative support functions. This person will develop and implement programs through which to manage total procurement and inventory costs associated with the purchase of goods and services. Our ideal candidate will also maintain strong working relationships and communications directly with the supply base to monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries as well as use metrics and quantitative analysis to monitor and improve Supply Chain processes.
· Responsible for the planning of materials and the procurement of raw materials for manufacturing runs.
· Maintain purchase order status and inventory release status in the Purchasing system to ensure material availability.
· Responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of inventory Item Master Data for each project (Item price, lead times, safety stocks, min/max quantities) as needed to ensure the systems are effectively planning future requirements.
· Develop and implement approved multiple supplier base; recommend the use of alternate materials, services, and supplies; develop and implement back-up sourcing plan(s) for raw materials, and key raw materials and components.
· Manage the Overall Inventory Value within an acceptable range for our financial goals
· Communication and coordination with accounting and other support departments.
· Thorough knowledge of procurement, supplier relations, material planning and inventory management.
· Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a multi-discipline, fast-paced, growing, manufacturing facility.
· 5+ years of experience with ERP and MRP software
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
· Energetic and positive approach to evolving changes and challenges of a fast-paced workplace
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and stringent attention to detail
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
· Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. (Preferred)
· Work Location: In person (Monday – Friday)
