Position Overview:
This internship offers a hands-on introduction to core business operations with a focus on accounting, finance, and administrative functions. The intern will gain practical experience in cost accounting, per diem reconciliation, data entry, asset tracking, contract management, and accounts payable processes. This role is ideal for students pursuing careers in business, accounting, or finance.
Key Learning Objectives and Responsibilities:
1. Cost Accounting Support
•Assist in tracking and categorizing project costs
•Learn to work with cost reports and budgets
•Support variance analysis and reporting
2. Per Diem Reconciliation
•Collect and review per diem claims
•Verify supporting documentation and reconcile discrepancies
•Prepare reconciliation summaries under guidance
3. Data Entry & Administrative Support
•Enter and maintain data in accounting and asset management systems
•Help organize and digitize records and supporting documents
•Perform quality checks for accuracy and consistency
4. Asset Management
•Help update and maintain asset inventory records
•Assist with physical audits and tagging
•Support life cycle tracking of company equipment
5. Accounts Payable Assistance
•Review vendor invoices and match with purchase orders
•Help prepare payment packages for approval
•Gain exposure to payment cycle and reporting procedures
6. Contract Management
•Assist with organizing and cataloging vendor and subcontractor contracts
•Support compliance tracking and renewal reminders
•Learn document control basics and confidentiality protocols
7. Business Introduction Duties
•Attend introductory meetings with key departments
•Shadow team members to understand daily operations
•Participate in team briefings and company culture events
•High School Diploma or G.E.D.
•Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree
•Strong communication skills
