The Business Development Manager is responsible for managing the development and implementing strategic and tactical marketing plans for the introduction of business into new geographical areas and/or introduction of new business into already established areas. They will assume strategies are consistent with overall objectives for the organization and prioritize product opportunities to maximize sales and profits. Detailed responsibilities include the following:
- Identifying and Pursuing New Business Opportunities: responsible for researching markets, identifying potential clients, and developing strategies to attract new business.
- Build Relationships: help cultivate and maintain relationships with existing clients, partners, and potential customers to foster long-term business growth.
- Develop and Implement Strategies: create business plans that outline strategies for new markets, client needs, and product development, working with teams like sales and marketing to ensure alignment.
- Negotiating and Closing Deals: leverage strong negotiation skills to secure new clients and finalize strategic partnerships that contribute to profitability.
- Monitoring and Reporting: track sales progress, manage client interactions, and provide regular updates on goals and progress.
- Stay Informed: keep up to date with the industry, competitive landscapes, and market developments to identify new opportunities and challenges.
- Collaboration: work closely with various internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure a cohesive approach to business growth.
- Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalent, or 10 years of relevant work experience in lieu of education, and 10 years’ experience in Marketing, Sales or Operations with 5 years management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of industry trends.
- Strong PC skills, including Word and Excel.
- Strong technical, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
