•Develop and maintain relationships with market leading contractors, REITS, and other large-scale prospective customer that has a need in which Atlantic Pipe Services can assist and provide one or more of the services in our portfolio.
•Work with the local Territory Account Manager to set up meetings/visits together when working in established APS Territories.
•Prospect and qualify vertical and horizontal sales opportunities to current and new clients in the engineering space.
•Work alongside Estimating to assist in costs pertaining to material, labor, equipment and subcontractor scopes of work.
•Influence projects toward sole source procurement wherever possible with any Owner, Consultant or Contractor customers. When sole source is not possible, work toward a listed bid form visible to the owner’s decision-maker.
•When possible make every effort to be the prime service provider to all customers; (i.e. service agreement written directly with the customer providing payment).
•Prepare technical scope of work proposals and presentations.
•Influence new service and inspection specifications through engineering relationships and educational lunch and learn presentations.
•Negotiate final approved pricing and scope of work with. all prospective and existing customers.
•Conduct market research to ascertain competitor pricing, maintain knowledge of client needs, and develop knowledge of future. Opportunities.
•Create and execute sales strategies for clientele in the Engineering sector.
•Track sales activities and forecast sales opportunities in CRM.
•Maintain the company CRM software and provide weekly reporting.
•Aid in the collection of Aging Invoices/delinquent accounts related to this position’s direct customer base
•Handle directly or lead a proactive effort as a project captain in completing the bid forms, scope of work and estimate that requires one or more APS Team member or department.
•Team sell with other sales executives.
•Continue to improve knowledge of industry practices and products, as well as competitive analysis.
•Participate in technical and professional organizations, networking events, client outings, trade shows etc.
•Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies.
•Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous improvements, and collaborate with the team to drive efficiencies.
•Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance.
•Support a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and site safety as well as other aspects of the business.
•Be sure to oversee the initial service of APS crews when performing work on new clients. Be on site! Communicate the importance of quality and professionalism with the APS crews performing the work.
•Make sure you have confidence in the work performed for the customers that this position represents.
Knowledge & Skills required:
•5+ years of experience in Sales.
•Motivated self-starter, strategic mindset and ability to create, refine and execute.
•Bachelor’s Degree, with industry experience is preferred.
•Tech savvy with experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
•Thorough knowledge of building systems.
•Has a robust network of clients, or has proven to have been able to build a robust network of quality customers.
•Ability to “own” a project from sourcing, influencing, collecting bidding documents and soliciting subcontractor estimates.
•Capable of reading/understanding specifications and prints, generating a proposal, bidding, following up and closing project.
•Prior experience supporting service and field employee groups, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative.
•Commitment to “open door” and comfort with production floor presence and contact with all field employees.
•Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation.
•Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.
•High ethical standards, strong values, integrity, drive to deliver results, pride in personal and team performance, decision quality, building effective teams, and action orientation are fundamental imperatives.
