Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and supporting various accounting functions across multiple platforms. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse accounting software and contribute to the financial health of our organization, whether in a corporate, non-profit, or governmental setting.
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and account analysis
- Record journal entries accurately in accordance with GAAP standards
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements
- Conduct payroll processing and related tax filings as needed
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools
- Ensure compliance with financial concepts like double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation
- Assist with budgeting processes and financial report writing
- Support governmental accounting requirements when applicable
- Perform 10 key typing tasks for data entry accuracy
- Maintain detailed documentation of all bookkeeping activities
- Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other relevant platforms
- Strong understanding of GAAP, corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, and governmental accounting standards
- Knowledge of financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account analysis, payroll processing, and tax preparation is preferred
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation accurately
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes and financial report writing
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is a plus
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
