Crossroads Utility Services, LLC is seeking a qualified Billing Representative to perform routine and complex administrative and clerical utility billing and builder services for its client Municipal Utility District’s customers. The Billing Representative is responsible for insuring the efficiency and quality of utility billing, general accounting, and builder services coordination within an assigned group of districts for Crossroads.
· Act as primary billing representative lead on assigned utility Districts;
· Coordinate and assist payment posting documentation with payment processing team;
· Complete billing reports and generate utility bills on a timely schedule;
· Responding to customer service-related billing issues and customer requests for billing corrections;
· Complete routine and complex adjustments on billing accounts;
· Ensure consistency and quality of monthly utility bills by creating and reviewing exception reports;
· Assisting District bookkeepers on reviewing reports for reconciliation purposes;
· Coordinate batching and posting of payments by type;
· Completion of routine and complex data entry tasks; and
· Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills;
· Experience where a high attention to detail and quality in job tasks is expected;
· The ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines;
· A self-driven work ethic needing minimal supervision to complete assigned work;
· Practical knowledge of water and wastewater utility billing, customer services, utility construction, and meter reading in municipal environments;
· Knowledge and use of financial management and accounting principles;
· A proficiency in Microsoft office suite, including Excel;
· A proficiency with UMS or other utility billing software (preferred);
· The ability to handle tasks as assigned by team lead/manger
· High School diploma with 2-5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and billing specialist experience; and
· BA/BS degree with at 1-2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and billing experience (preferred)
· The Sr. Billing Representative position is commensurate based on experience and or an equivalent combination of education and utility billing specialist experience
· Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
· Manual dexterity sufficient to handle telephone systems, keyboarding, and office equipment.
· Moderate noise levels typical of an office setting.
