Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an engineer for our Charlotte, NC office. As part of our design team, you will work on stormwater management projects, including drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stream restoration design, and stormwater control measure (SCM) design.

- Assist in preparing engineering deliverables, including existing condition and alternative analysis reports, hydraulic models, construction drawings, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
- Work directly with senior level engineering team providing mentoring opportunities to learn and develop
- Attend client and internal project management meetings
- Support and assist in the delivery of multiple projects from planning through construction while demonstrating Hazen’s culture and while maintaining quality, budget and schedule.
- Participate in site visits within the City of Charlotte and surrounding municipalities, to include:
- Existing Condition Assessments
- Utility Coordination Meetings
- Pre-Construction Conferences
- Construction Progress Meetings
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, biological engineering, or related engineering field.
- Strong interest in stormwater management
- Strong communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, and the Microsoft Office Suite
- 2-4 years of relevant experience within the civil engineering industry that counts towards PE license
- EIT certification
- Conducts self-quality reviews before submitting work for additional QA/QC.
- Proficiency in GIS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, and Bluebeam
- Experience with NCDOT and City of Charlotte standard specifications and details
