Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Controller to join our Finance and Accounting team. This position will support the Controller in overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, leadership capability, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:*

•

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.

•

Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, providing insights for decision-making.

Budgeting and Forecasting:*

•

Collaborate in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

•

Monitor spending and provide variance analysis to management.

Accounting Operations:*

•

Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

•

Ensure timely and accurate closing of monthly and year-end accounts.

Compliance and Audit:*

•

Support the Controller in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls.

•

Assist in coordinating internal and external audits, including preparation of required documentation.

Team Leadership:*

•

Provide mentorship and support to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

•

Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Process Improvement:*

•

Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the finance and accounting functions.

•

Implement best practices for financial management and reporting.

System Management:*

•

Assist in the maintenance and improvement of financial systems and reporting tools.

•

Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure data integrity and system efficiency.

Qualifications

•

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA designation is a plus.

•

Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and compliance.

•

Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.

•

Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and financial regulations.

•

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

•

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
