The Mason location is a full-service machine and equipment manufacturing facility that produces a wide range of products, including military transport containers; industrial washers and dryers for the beverage industry; mixers and dryers for the pharmaceutical industry; mobile healthcare coaches; and more.
Our manufacturing capabilities include shear press operations; TIG and MIG welding of stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum; control panel and machine wiring; final assembly; and complete machine run-offs. It is a fast-paced, growing production environment that spans more than 300,000 square feet and supports a diverse range of operations.
The Paint & Assembly Supervisor is responsible for managing a team (10-25) of Painters, Shot Blast Operators, Assemblers and Material Handlers with varying skillsets to meet Production Schedules and Deadlines within defined hours budgets.
· Distributing Work Orders, clearly defined budgets and completion timing to your team.
· Parts organization, staging and resource planning for current and upcoming work.
· Working additional hours as needed to meet shipping deadlines.
· This position reports to the Plant Manager.
· Supporting, enforcing, and applying company safe work practices
· Promoting teamwork and a positive work environment
· Conducting daily floor meetings to inform employees of company activities, assign tasks
· Executing production schedules and working with other departments to make sure product completion and shipping requirements are met
· Holding team members accountable for executing their job safely, efficiently and with high quality
· Using company ERP software (Epicor) for daily approval of employee time, reviewing labor budget goals and performance, submitting pick lists to the stockroom, tracking parts needs and identifying potential shortages
· Assigning overtime, tracking and approving time, vacations, absences
· Interviewing, recommend hiring, training, disciplining, evaluating, and developing objectives with employees
· Leading their team to accomplish the cost control, quality, and productivity targets
o Managing employees’ job completion hours against budgeted (standard) hours
o Managing employees to meet “on time” deliveries
· Confirming proper times and labor reporting is documented
o Daily reviewing and approving employee time in time keeping system
o Daily reviewing and approving employee time in M2K
o Monitoring attendance and implementing discipline in accordance with policies
· Promoting Lean Manufacturing Concepts, including 5S principles and Kaizen participation and leadership
· Communicating employee concerns and implementing corrective action for improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unsafe equipment
· Identifying and coordinating training needs of employees to develop skills to allow department flexibility and for personal development
· Developing and promoting cost reduction ideas and continuous improvement in processes and procedures
· Leadership skills, with the ability to positively motivate
· Excellent communication skills, including ability to clearly indicate expectations, train and help employees improve, and report progress or issues to higher management
· Understanding and experience with Liquid Paint Booths, HVLP Spray Equipment, Assembly organization and staging of parts, efficient workflow and safety skills around this equipment is required
· Basic MS Office knowledge, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
